[Update] MTS may look like it’s enabling RCS, but it is not.

Update 14/12/2016 – Well, via a conversation with MTS on Twitter, I’ve learned that MTS has not enabled RCS at all “yet”. When I asked why other MTS users are seeing the option to turn on enhanced features in Google Messenger, MTS suspects it is due to Rogers and MTS sharing towers. So for all MTS users seeing this, sorry to say, it is just a tease for now.

Well this is a pleasant surprise! Adam Slobodian just received the option to use RCS via Google Messenger. His carrier is MTS. Just yesterday I posted about Rogers Wireless announcing their RCS support roll out, and I have yet to see the option show up on my phone. MTS nor Google has stated anything publicly, but Adam’s Nexus 6P is proof it’s arrived for at least some MTS clients.

Kudos, MTS!
