LG G6 coming to Canada, April 7

Starting tomorrow, March 15, you’ll be able to pre-order the new LG G6. The smartphone is set to be released in Canada on April 7.

LG has said their G6 will be available at the following carriers;

  • Rogers Wireless
  • Bell
  • Telus
  • Eastlink
  • Virgin Mobile
  • Fido
  • Freedom Mobile
  • Koodo Mobile
  • SaskTel
  • Videotron

Nothing was said about MTS, so I’ll reach out to them via Twitter and update this article if I learn more.

No word has been said yet about Canadian pricing.

The LG G6

The LG G6 is the first phone to come out with the new 18:9 aspect ratio – something quite different than the 16:9 we’ve been accustomed to. This means the phone is much taller, and while you’ll see more lines when reading your emails, you’ll also see black bars on the sides of your YouTube videos. It’s a trade off.

Speaking of the screen, it is a 5.7″ IPS screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 821 chip. You’ll get either 32GB or 64GB of storage space, along with 4GB of RAM. The G6 comes with dual cameras. One is 13 MP with f/1.8 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). The other is 13MP f/2.4. For your selfies, there is a 5MP f/2.2 camera.

LG ditched the ability to remove the 3300 mAh battery, but now it has been IP68 certified, making it dust and water proof over 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
